SEO in 2016
As the 2015 year comes to a close with less than 2 months left, many of use are already looking forward into 2016. By the third quarter you are analyzing your marketing, yearly sales, and changes you plan on making to improve the next year. Your SEO should definitely be a part of that thought process. Here are some of the expected changes you can prepare to see next year:
Social Media will be more important
I can just hear the groans now. More talk about social media and the effects on your search optimization. Well in 2016 we expect this is going to be even more important. Getting more (greater) social signals, like sharing content and interacting with users, will help to increase your rankings and generate more traffic for your website. We already see news ways Google is trying to incorporate social media posts in new ways. Their deal with Twitter that rolled out earlier this year is a perfect example of that.
Mobile is taking over everything
This past year mobile traffic officially took over desktop traffic in regards to website traffic. In 2016 you can expect to see this rise continue as the numbers are only increasing. This means if you don’t already have your website mobile optimized to the best of its ability, then you are way behind.
Everyone loves the Knowledge Graph
The Knowledge Graph is the little box that pops up on the right side of the screen when you perform basic Google searches, such as a movie, specific business, etc. This box gives you basic information about the keyword you are searching for, such as location, hours, etc. Everyone loves the knowledge box because more than likely exactly what you are looking for is in that box and you have the information immediately without having to click into any links. The only real downside is, for an example, let’s say you are looking for a phone number and address for a specific business. With the knowledge box you can google the name of the business and the information will be right there, otherwise you would have had to click into the website to find the information. While you were searching the website for that information you might also look around at some other things but not anymore. Now there is no need to even enter the website and this might slightly effect your website traffic.
There are many more changes we can expect, and even project, but needless to say 2016 is going to be another great year! Call us now for a free consultation to help you get ready for 2016!
