Marketing Your Business Through The Holidays
If you’ve been in business for more than a year then you may already be familiar with the challenge of marketing your business during the holiday season. While most people are focused on shopping, Thanksgiving, and Christmas; you are focused on bringing in or maintaining business. Here are a few tips to help you stay on track this holiday season.
Stay in front of your customers
If there was ever a time to utilize advertising, email marketing, or social media it’s now! A key strategy to successfully keeping the train chugging along, is making sure you are using your marketing platforms. These platforms are designed to help create brand awareness and engage with your customers. As a result, since these platforms take so much time it is very important you use a strategy to help manage them. Marketing your business should always be accompanied by a marketing strategy, but even more so during the holiday season. In fact, create a new strategy just for the holiday season! To make sure your marketing is as effective as possible.
Create holiday promotions
If your customers minds are already on shopping and sales, then why not create your own? Holiday-only promotions, sales, and deals are an excellent way to encourage your customers to do business with you right now. Always attached a deadline to your promotions to create urgency. Make sure your deadline is ahead of the Christmas rush, i.e. before December 15th. Keep in mind, unless you are in retail, your business is likely to become very quiet between Christmas and New Years. Which leads me to my next strategy tip.
Plan for the quiet season
For most businesses, and likely yours, you have a quiet season. This might happen between Christmas day and New Years. So you have two options. First, build up as much business as you can before December 1st to keep you busy during this time. That means you have to start building up your business NOW! Don’t wait. Stores are already sending out their holiday brochures and flyers in the mail. They are way ahead of the season! You have to do the same thing. You have to put your business ahead of the season, which means implementing your marketing strategy now. The second option is to take this quiet time as a break for yourself. If you can afford it, and if you would like a break, then utilize this natural gap in business.
